I am spending the fall in the United States. Through an invitation from my colleague Anne Balsamo, dean of The School of Media Studies at The New School in New York and author of the great book Designing Culture. The Technological Imagination at Work, I have the opportunity to devote time to write on my forthcoming book Media Interventionism in a very stimulating environment. The main part of the time here is spent working on the book, but I also try to take part in what is happening at The New School, as well as at other universities here in New York, and its surroundings. I will also give a number of guest lectures dealing in differing degrees with our earlier book Collaborative Media and with the forthcoming book. Scheduled thus far are these talks:
Oct 28: School of Literature, Media, and Communication, Georgia Tech
Nov 4: School of Media Studies, The New School
Nov 5: Comparative Media Studies, MIT
Nov 25: School of Communication and Information, Rutgers University
I would of course be happy to do more talks while I am here, so if anyone is interested, please contact me.
I will be in the New York area until mid December, then in the Los Angeles area until mid January.
